In response to COVID-19 pandemic, BISSELL Pet Foundation is sponsoring reduced adoption fees across the state of Michigan starting Thursday, March 19 through Wednesday, March 25 in efforts to assist animal shelters that are struggling with fewer volunteers and staff to care for their animals. Like many shelters, Macomb County Animal Control has already enacted safeguards to reduce foot traffic in our facility, and in return it is making it difficult for us to conduct adoptions. These adoptions will be conducted by appointment ONLY for approved applicants.
With BPF funding, adoption fees are only $25! Animals available for adoption can be viewed anytime on our Peftinder site.
All of the animals available for adoption are spayed/neutered, current on age/species appropriate vaccines, provided with prevention and microchipped. Dog license fees are NOT included in the adoption fee but are required for all Macomb County residents.
Adoption applications can be found online here.
Once your application is submitted and approved, the Macomb County Animal Control shelter staff will work with you to schedule an in-person appointment, keeping social distancing in mind.
